“Luxury is opposite of vulgarity”- Coco Chanel
These are the words that I read as I scrolled to the bottom of my new favourite Indian born and International gone website for anything touches the word luxury- The Luxe Café.
What makes this website different or if I can say credible is that the articles are written by well-experienced people and industry experts. For instance, here you have Tarun Tahiliani talking to you about how to select the right bridal wear and Joe King, head of Audi India telling you how and why you should be buying a luxury car. That does sound like some credible source. Doesn’t it?
This magazine is about reader engagement; enabling him to make more informed choices when it comes to luxury. In my opinion it is of great value for Indian market right now as luxury is not a very old phenomenon. Most people are still learning about it and understanding what is right and what is wasted investment. It only makes sense to have a platform that not only tells about the existing services and products but also helps in understanding their genesis and how to use them to their best utility possible. In fact, the platform serves perfect for luxury brands to reach out to their increasing clients from smaller cities and towns in India and not just metros where customers can anyhow get first hand experience in standalone showrooms.
Looking at aligning itself with national and international consumers of high-end luxury, the target audience for this online magazine is not geographically bound. Personalities like HH Maharaja Gaj Singh, Rosita Missoni – founder of the Italian fashion house Missoni, Malav Shroff -boating tycoon, Dinaz Madhukar – President of DLF Emporio, Riccardo Bestetti – creator of bespoke Italian men’s shoes, are a few known names from among the selection of famous aesthetes joining in the cause of The Luxe Café.
So, whether, you like travel, food, motors or fashion, this online magazine has all of it and straight from the horse`s mouth. I have already read most of its features and cannot wait for more to come.
In Manisha Mayur Shekhar`s words, who is the Editorial Director, “Luxury, as we see it, is not for a privileged few but for all those with the courage to look beyond the obvious and seek out the intricate details of life. We believe real luxury inherently is all about time and space, whether it’s the painstakingly handcrafted timepiece on your wrist or the precious hours you spend with your loved ones, it is experiencing the first sun rays on a mighty Himalayan peak from the comfort of your balcony, or feeling your heart racing as you zoom past in your Ferrari.”
That indeed is a beautiful take on luxury, coming from this ex-journalist and luxury marketing expert. Meanwhile, why don`t you have a look at the website here.
