I remember growing up drinking banana shake and also getting bored with it; only until recent times when I started experimenting with healthy vegan smoothies. Playing with smoothies, I came up with this really yum and healthy recipe, which uses banana and almond milk as base, avocado as thickening agent and some superfoods to charge its nutritional value.
Ingredients (Makes 2 small and 1 big serving) –
1 1/2 cup Milk of choice. I used almond milk. Also, the quantity can be tweaked for consistency preference.
2 Frozen Bananas
2 tablespoons organic raw almond butter
1 tablespoon soaked flax seeds
1/2 cup soaked cashew nuts
1 teaspoon maca powder
1/2 pitted ripe avocado
Blast the ingredients in your blender on high speed. If you find sugar less despite the bananas, you can add sweetener of choice. I generally avoid artificial ones. Its best to have it chilled intermediately as bananas tend to lose taste and colour.
